Elk At Kendor Ranch

Elk

Elk are frequent visitors to the ranch. In the winter, there have been as many as 160 head wandering around the property. During the warmer summer months, only about 20 remain. In the picture to the right, a small spring herd is grazing on the lawn to the north of the house.

The elk are fun to watch. In the image on the left, one cow elk keeps watch while the others eat on the front (west) lawn.

In the photo on the right, a cow elk wanders across the back (east) yard in search of tasty grass.
